LeddarTM side-tecTM is an optical sensing solution providing a 16 beam virtual detection curtain for the toll and traffic enforcement industry.
Based on the innovative LeddarTM technology platform, the LeddarTM side-tecTM uses the time-of-flight of light to create a virtual 3D curtain providing very accurate vehicle data information of all dimensions. In addition, since the LeddarTM side-tecTM has no moving parts, the data is compiled thousands of times per second, offering very accurate and reliable information in adverse weather and lighting conditions.
Ease of installation and configuration
Flexibility in mind, the non-intrusive LeddarTM side-tecTM unit can be mounted directly to the existing gantry and positioned overhead of the lanes or alternatively mounted in a side-fired approach adjacent to the lanes.
Since the unit uses industry-standard PoE (Power over Ethernet), both power and data information are transmitted over the Cat 5e cable.

Achieving a high degree of accuracy and reliability is a key objective for any electronic and open road toll collection systems. To this extent, the LeddarTM side-tecTM contributes to the attainment of this objective by providing precise vehicle detection with speeds ranging from 1 to 250 Km/h (1 to 155 MPH).
