The Versatile Engine at the Core of the LiDAR Platform

LeddarEngine™ sets a new standard for the development of highly integrated, customizable solid-state LiDAR solutions optimized for high-volume production. LeddarEngine is also at the core of our LiDAR XLRator™ platform. Comprised of the LeddarCore™ system-on-chip (SoC) and LeddarSP™ signal processing, the LeddarEngine supports multiple LiDAR architectures and will be implemented into the Zynq UltraScale platform for enhanced performance. Customers developing with the LeddarEngine benefit from:

LeddarEngine’s advanced software and hardware LiDAR core enables the development and industrialization of multiple LiDAR architectures, including solid-state flash and hybrid flash designs. Various components and software that are part of LiDAR design such as emitters, receivers, micromirr, microprocessors and software development tools are available from the Leddar™ Ecosystem partners, who are prequalified for integration with LeddarEngine.

New Modular Software Offering


LeddarEngine proposes a modular software architecture that adapts to a wide range of integrations, including new LiDAR designs or retrofit into existing LiDAR designs. The software layer can consist of a simple control block for the LeddarCore SoC up to a complete LiDAR acquisition system, including signal processing and advanced functions. The four levels of software integration are described below.

LeddarEngine Fundamentals

APPLICATION NOTE – The LeddarCore LCA2 or LCA3 works in parallel with the LeddarSP™ software library, which runs on a separate microcontroller (MCU). Advanced data analysis leading to high-accuracy and high-range distance measurements is performed by the LeddarSP within the MCU. The LeddarSP application programming interface (API) allows data access to any custom application co-implemented in the MCU.
