Highlights of the week-long Quebec City event included a meeting with AI pioneer Yoshua Bengio, who heads the Montreal Institute for Learning Algorithms (MILA) and was keynote speaker for the festival’s AI Day, followed by a deep dive into autonomous car technologies with LeddarTech. The city’s first unicorn start-up, LeddarTech has developed a cost-effective solid-state LiDAR sensing technology that is used in autonomous vehicles and drones for object and obstacle detection.
